Hi Andy, This is a very old post (from 2013!) but no less valid today. Hope you enjoyed the quiz – must be about time for me to make some new ones though!
Well done! Have you checked out my other quizzes (here: https://www.tradersbulletin.co.uk/category/quiz/). Must be about time to put together a fresh one – any suggestions for topics you’d like to test your strength on?!
Sir, this is innovative way to learn and memories the Candle sticks pattern and easy to memories if some one practice repeatedly…does it have basic and single stick pattern also…..This can be improved with music and categorized in 2-4 levels starting from single stick to identifying candle pattern on chart. This it sir, this will amply improvise trading without other indicators. You deserve a big thanks sir.
I came across a price action trading approach that uses a line chart and pivot points. No indicators. As I can get to the charts no earlier than 3pm, I was getting fed up with missing out on so many trades–all the action was happening in the a.m. and early p.m.; and the candlestick patterns that work so well at that time seemed to be hit and miss after 3pm. So when I came across this approach it looked possible to make more than my 10-20 pips target (50+) regularly mid-afternoon/evening.
60% Not bad, but I need a to revise some details. Interesting quiz Mark – How about another that concentrates on continuation patterns rather than reversals ? Regards PW
6 out of 10… not great, but tend to think I know more of what a few of the most popular patterns mean rather than their names. Perhaps that should read ” a very few” … not that I actually use them day to day, just rely on my set-up, (Pivots Daily, Neuro Trend, Bolinger Bands, BTrend2Sig, plus Stochastic ). What works for you ? Might be nice to hear from other successful guy’s re set-up.
With regard to question 4:
I did not think the up candle opened below the low of the down candle.
Is the low of the down candle the tip of the wick protruding from beneath?

Hi Mark,
I must be missing something as the last comment on my page was Aug 17 2016, surely it’s been used since!

Well done Chris – great result. Out of interest, why have you stopped using candlesticks?
Chris
9/10. A little surprised by that considering I haven’t been using candles for almost a year. Number 8 got me.

Thanks for the feedback. Continuation patterns sounds like a good idea for next time. Cheers, Mark

This was hard: 50%, but great learning – well done Mark, more please.

Thanks for your comment Sean – you’re right, it should read “below the down candle’s close” rather than low. I’ll amended the text now. Cheers.

If its any consolation I didn’t do much better. This was tough

I’m horrified. I thought I knew quite a lot about candlesticks and only got 50% of these right.
