Can you run the nasgap system on 2 computers simultaneously or you can only do it with 1 computer?
Thank you
Stephen
Hi Mark, any further updates on this method?
All the best,
Steve.

I made a profit this week on my NasGap trades. Nothing spectacular, but it was a profit.
Mon 20th Jan – No trade day
Tues 14th Jan – Bank holiday
Wed 15th Jan – No trade
Thur 16th Jan – Win 10.2 points profit*
Fri 17th Jan – Trade not triggered
Total 10.2 points for the week.
I’m not 100% sure if I should record the winning trade on Thursday.
My trade was triggered a couple of minutes before 9pm, which is when we should close down any positions, however as it had just been triggered I let it run and it hit the profit target in the early hours of the morning, so I’ve recorded it as a profit.
There’s no doubt that NasGap is easy to follow and doesn’t take up much time, however we do get a lot of no trade days which makes it a bit of an effort to stick with and I find the 2.25pm trade time less than convenient, but that’s just me.
My main issue is the profit targets are often very small, but the distance to the stop stay the same regardless. This can leave you with some very poor risk reward ratios and small profits for your efforts.
Kind regards,
Mark Rose

Hi All,
A very disappointing week for NASGAP this week, with only 2 trades triggered and both losses.

Tues 14th Jan – Trade not triggered
Wed 15th Jan – loss – 13 points
Thur 16th Jan – No Trade
Fri 17th Jan – loss – 13 points
Total – 26 points for the week.

I recorded another low scoring week, grand total 0.
Still it’s not a loss …… 🙂
Mark Rose
Hi Margy,
Every strategy has a weak point and risk reward is definitely NASGAPs.
That said I’ve not had a stop hit yet at either full or half measures.
You are right though that you do end up sometimes taking on trades with very skewed risk rewards ratios.
My expectation has always been you will enjoy a very high number of winners, but will have to accept the occasional big loss.
This weeks trades results were;
Mon 16th Dec loss: – 2 points profit (Closed just before 9pm to avoid the rolling charge).
Tues 17th Dec: No Trade
Wed 18th Dec: No Trade
Thurs 19th Dec: Trade not triggered
Fri 13th Dec: No trade
-2 points profit for the week.
Kind regards,
Mark Rose

Hi Mark
I have been following NasGap too, but I am beginning to wonder if the risk/reward ratio is tilted towards to the risk side as so far there have been a lot of No Trades and the winners have been small in their profits.
What is your feeling please Mark?
Margy

Another profitable week for my NASGAP test, although I did start the week with another loss, which made it two in a row!
Both these loses have only been small and caused by me closing the trades just before being hit by a overnight financing charge from the broker.
Mon 9th Dec loss – 5.9 points profit.
Tues 10th Dec win 3.3 points profit
Wed 11th Dec No Trade
Thurs 12th Dec No Trade
Fri 13th Dec win 10.1 points profit
Total for the week 7.5 points.

My first loss on NASGAP!
Trade looked good but then pulled back to around breakeven for the rest of the day. Ended up closing the trade for a 1 point loss just after 9pm.
I was trying to close it for a very small winner to maintain the 100% record, but with the spread and slippage ended up 1 point down.
Still managed a 10.5 point profit on the week though, so as losing trades go, it wasn’t too bad!

This is looking quite good Mark, so I am going to be trying it myself and comparing your results to mine.
Thanks for you review.
Mark Rose
Only managed 1 NASGAP trade this week which won 7.3 points on Monday.
Rest of the week was either no trades, trades not triggered or a US bank holiday.
Still, it does mean my winning run was extended to 14 in a row and 94.4 points profit.

Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the info, I think I will give it a go and will keep an eye on your postings here to check results.
Thanks Steven.
Steven.
Sorry did not finish my previous message:
I am new to this so I apologise if my question is a little stupid.
Thanks Steven.

Hi Steven,
You need to be looking as the NASDAQ chart for 5 minutes or so at 2.30pm.
If there is a trade you place an order to open with a stop loss and profit target, then you can walk away and leave it to play out.
The theory behind all this is that markets don’t like gaps and on most occasions they close then quite quickly – but not always.
Today for example I set a trade to open if the market dropped, but the market has pushed up and so today’s trade hasn’t been triggered.
In this scenario we set the orders to open with time limit, so if the trade isn’t triggered the order is removed and the trade never entered.
Of course if a trade is opened then it will either run to your stop loss, in which case you will lose money, or your profit target, in which case you will make money.
Assuming today’s trade isn’t triggered (and I’m 99.99% sure it won’t) then my results to date are;
13 trades and 13 wins for a 87.1 points profit, which isn’t at all bad for a strategy that takes 5 minutes a day.
My expectation is that NASGAP will have a very high winning trade ratio with just the occasional loss.
In the literature they talk about an 80% win rate, which feels about right to me.
It is a slow and steady system that is easy to understand and trade, so ideal if you are relatively new to trading. Obviously I’ve liked it to date, but then without having hit a loss, that’s hardly surprising!
Trial is 30 days and is from Agora, so can be trusted. You can give it a go by clicking on the link below;

Hi Mark,
Does the system require you to leave trades open for an extended period throughout the day or does it identify the gap giving you the option to place the trade and close within a short period of time, it is the fact you mention closing trades at the end of the day, the fact that it say’s gap trading has me worried that you could be in profit at one point but if you leave to long you could lose that profit.
Mark Rose
No trade today.

Mark
Rich
Hi Mark,
Just wondered what platform you were using to trade this system and if it has a 1 or 2 point spread?
Thanks
Rich
Mark Rose
Hi Rich,
I’ve been using IG who offer a 1 point spread, but any platform with tight spreads should do.
We close the trades before they roll, so overnight charges don’t come into it (otherwise I definitely wouldn’t be using IG).

Mark Rose

Another NASGAP winner today for 7.3 points, maintaining my 100% winning trades to 13 out of 13.
If your around for a few minutes at 2.30pm, then this is working out to be a nice little trade.

Today’s NASGAP order to open didn’t get triggered.
I’m still liking this system though and sitting out of trades and being patient is a very important and somewhat overlooked part of being a trader.

Won again today (4.1 points), which makes it 8 in a row.
Much like my comments last week my concern is the risk reward on the trades mean it wouldn’t only take a couple of trades to undo most of the good work. That said it’s a 100% win ratio at the moment and there is something to be said for lots of stress free, small winning trades!
Regards,
Mark

3 wins and 2 no trade days this week taking me to 7 wins out of 7 for 45 points profit.
I do quite like this system although it is going to take time (if not very much effort) to build the profits and I do still have some concerns over the risk/reward ratio.

Mark

Another 8 points from today’s NASGAP trade. That’s 4 out of 4 so far.

Another no trade day for NASGAP today.
So far the gaps on the Nasdaq have been pretty small fry so there’s not been much going on with the strategy.
It only takes a few minutes out of your day though, so i’m keen for it to work as easily tradeable repeatable patterns can give you an edge over the market, my only concern is so far the risk reward per trade hasn’t been great as the gaps have been small, but we stick to a set stop loss.

Mark

Today’s NASGAP trade has closed for a 5 point profit.
Only had 2 trades in the 5 days I’ve been testing, but both have won.

Right, I’ve got my copy of NASGAP and have read through it. I really hope this one works out as it’s a nice little trick.
Trading gaps isn’t anything new, but John fleshes it out with strict trading rules that should be quick and easy to follow.
One thing to note is you need to be able to watch the markets at the US open for about 5 minutes, so if 2.30pm to 2.35pm is not a trading window your around for, then this isn’t a system you’ll be able to use.
I’ll start trading tomorrow and as ever if you want to see how I get on (past the first 3 comments) you’ll need to sign up as a Traders Bulletin member and login. You do this in the 2 boxes below.
All the best,

am interessted in this too. anyone had any experience of john piper before?

Sounds like an interesting system.
I’ll be testing it out and posting a full review of my findings shortly.
In the meantime, if you’re using it, we’d love to know what you think – please post your comments below.
