Trade Nation review

(previously Core Spreads)

Trade Nation Review Summary:

Trade Nation are known for small minimum stake sizes and tight spreads. Most of the major instruments you would typically trade have a mimium stake of just 10p per point/pip move. The platfrom  is modern and fast with a good charting package with all the usual technical indicators you would expect. You can trade from the charts and there is a good trading app for when you need to use your phone to trade.

Cost illustration:

Spreads are always a bit of a moving feast, but at the time of writing the spread on UK100 is just 0.4 of a point and EURUSD just 0.6 of a pip, which makes them competitive.

Demo account:

Trade Nation have now removed their one-click demo account in favour of a full sign-up one. This takes a few minutes longer to open, but is much better – the old version relied on placing cookies on your browser, which made it unreliable to tracking results.

MT4 platform:

Yes. As standard, these are opened as CFD accounts, but by emailing support, these can be transferred to spread bet.

What they say:

Trade Nation wasn’t always Trade Nation. From 2014 to 2019, we were known as Core Spreads, an award-winning, industry leader in low-cost trading. We grew from a small, one-office team into a global trading presence. Core Spreads was a highly trusted and successful company, and we’ve taken that success with us to Trade Nation.

Trade Nation was born from a simple belief that customers deserve better.

Whether you’re just starting out or you’re already an active trader, you can be sure that you’ll be supported on every step of your journey. Our transparent, customer-first approach will change the way you engage with the financial markets.

Of course, that’s just our opinion at Trader’s Bulletin … to make this Trade Nation Review really complete, we’d like to hear what you think of them. So, if you’ve used Trade Nation, please add your thoughts in the comments section below …

  • Hi Mark,
If using the Core Spreads Aus account for trading will it be regarded as betting under UK tax laws.
I’ve phoned Core Spreads and they just gave a “we cannot give Tax advice” stupid reply.
I would think that they should know as they are operating the platform.

      Hi Keith,

I’ll talk in general terms and this is just my understanding, I’m not a tax professional.

As I understand it if we use a broker who is not registered in the UK, then we are not spread betting, but trading CFD’s and therefore any profits we make will be subject to tax.

      Regards,

      Mark
